Another type of the story is based on a priest named Valentine. When Christianity was still a new religion and the Emperor Claudius II had issued in forbidding all the soldiers in Roman to marry or even engaged.
The reason of that is because the emperor believed that marriage could make the soldiers not focus on their job or distract their intention from the responsibility. Valentine then defied the decree of the emperor and secretly married the young couples as he felt it is not fair for the soldiers if they couldn’t feel love. Valentine then arrested, imprisoned and finally beheaded for his actions, exactly on February 14.
All the sacrifices of someone named Valentine for the sake of love then make 14th February became the day of love. Considering St. Valentine’s action as true love, lover all over the world use this day to express their love for the beloved. Everyone use this day to remark the action of love and would like to express their love more in this day and to give honour for St. Valentine as well. That eventually became a tradition that surprisingly continues even now.
